● About Us
We’re a proposed tuition-free, English-French dual-language school.
Elmont, NY
Mission
Alliance Charter: A Dual Language School prepares students to succeed in a multilingual world by providing a rigorous English–French dual-language education in which students develop biliteracy through strong literacy, mathematics, and academic discourse, with instruction designed to affirm students’ languages and cultures as central to their academic development and sense of belonging.
Vision
We envision a future where bilingual education is a public good, not a privilege, and where students’ languages, cultures, and identities are recognized as assets that foster belonging, strengthen community, and open doors to academic success and opportunity.
● Value Proposition
Why Alliance Charter school?
Dual-language Literacy development is essential to prepare students for a multilingual, interconnected world. Alliance Charter provides access and opportunity to students to apply their academic and language skills in and beyond the classroom by engaging with global perspectives, multicultural contexts, and real-world applications that reflect an interconnected world.
Students learn through our biliteracy model infused with academic purpose. Biliteracy at Alliance Charter means students use English and French to read complex texts, write with clarity, and engage in academic discourse across subject areas, not simply to converse, but to think, learn, and express ideas at a high level. Language acquisition supports critical thinking and supports knowledge building that is critical for academic excellence.
We value language, identity, and belonging and center connections with a larger world by affirming families, communities, and cultures.Alliance Charter affirms students’ linguistic and cultural identities by creating a school environment where multiple languages and cultures are visible, respected, and integrated into daily learning, fostering a strong sense of belonging and connection. This extends beyond our walls; we welcome families, experiences, and understanding to unite our school community.
Academic rigor is anchored in foundational skills and language development in multiple languages across content areas. We prioritize rigorous foundational instruction in literacy and mathematics aligned to New York State standards, using bilingual instruction to deepen understanding, precision, and accuracy rather than dilute academic expectations.
Our goal is to make bilingual education a “public good” available to all families, not just a privilege for some.
